The Phantom Leaves The Opera

After 35 years on Broadway, The Phantom of The Opera announced the date of its final performance. The main reasons for concluding the show are declining ticket sales and inflated production costs, which were already high compared to some other shows before the pandemic. The final showing was February 18th, 2023.

Until then, fans of the theater were able to attend the gothic love story, based on the 1910 french Gaston Leroux novel of the same name. Being enthralled by the love of a masked composer, coupled with the soprano performance in his opera house, was all the more tempting now that an end for the timeless production came near. Ticket sales had exploded, reportedly raking in two million dollars in sales within the first day after the announcement.
